spondylus shell, trochus shell, carabao horn, stalagmite, various animal bones and various types of rocks. A handful of traditional Chamorro artists on the island of Guam create these
unique pieces of traditional Chamorro jewelry with their own unique style and slight differentiation in shapes making each one special. The various combinations of materials used
together and slight variations in shape used to make a traditional piece of jewelry make each piece identifiable to the artist who made it.
Traditional Chamorro jewelry has been growing in popularity in recent years and is now probably even more popular than Guam jewelry made out of gold or silver. |
